people are kinda dumb (especially security people)

ok, after the last embarassing fuck-up by homeland security (the blinking-sign Boston bomb scare), you'd think they'd instruct security people what basic electronics stuff looks like.

but no. an MIT girl named Star shows up at Logan Airport with a simple breadboard circuit is arrested amid an enormously foolish media flurry. when i was seven years old, i would have said, "Gee, that's no bomb; it's just a breadboard." but i guess i shouldn't expect security people to have that level of sophistication. they're just getting paid to arrest people and make headlines; they're not expected to actually do a good job.

i vote that everyone go down to Radio Shack, pick up a breadboard & a few simple components, attach them to their clothing, and show up en masse to Logan Airport to say "Hey, you idiots; these aren't bombs!"

rain, rain

rain, rain, stay and play;
we're so dry we need some today. :-D
wet the lips of our leaves
and the hips of our hearts;
nourish our growth
and flourish our flora.
we fauna thirst so,
you'd plenish our souls.

i smile & smile. thank you . . .

. . . for walking into Starbuck's this morning and waving to me from the cash register. and for coming over to where i was sitting and continuing to smile. and for more flirting. lost telephone #s, both; but all is forgiven. calamity averted. we'll get together next week and swap stories.

new

torrents that don't.
right room, wrong day.
pain that won't.
(ever go away.)

feel sorry for me not,
lonely though i be.
my dreams cannot be bought;
i'm still true to me.

torrents will reseed.
my pain will fade.
class tonight indeed,
and i might get ... lucky.

---

thanks to meaningshapes for smiling through.

"Homeward Bound"

But all my words come back to me
in shades of mediocrity
like emptiness in harmony.
I need someone to comfort me.
Homeward bound . . .
I wish I was . . . homeward bound.
--[Simon & Garfunkel]--

--

an emotion-laden verse for me, but reality is no longer so stark & cheerless for me.

for i am -- homeward bound -- today. home again, home again, jiggety-jig. "September, I remember. A love once new has now grown old."
