from Ender's QOTD 2010-11-22

Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love.
Love is not music. Music is the best!
-- Frank Zappa, in Joe's Garage

[rock on! getting close to a new month, and even a new year — time for embracing changes and getting on with life! whoo-hoo!]

good evening from Sweet Bites

mellowing out in a soft chair at the coolio café near my new apartment. muscles sore from a day of loading & unloading furniture into & out of a U-Haul van, after a late night of packing and preparing to say "good-bye" to one place and "hello" to another.

big furniture delivery tomorrow—sofa, recliner, cocktail tables, TV stand, mattress & boxspring, and a pub table & chairs—yay!. home at last. and it culminates more than a week of gracious help, care, and support with and through the whole moving process from my best friend & primary decorating consultant, Barb: thank you, thank you, thank you!

thank Thor for ibuprofen, right? 800 milligrams thrice per day gets us mortals through.

sun has set before 5pm; night is falling. two bottles of Snapple empty on the table next to me. Peach Mangosteen Immunity & Noni Berry Refresh. time to go home.

Margarita's, Framingham, opening night

to the woman in Margarita's on opening night (16 November 2010): hello, i just wanted to buy you a Corona. i didn't want your number. i didn't want your name. you waved to me on my way out and said hello, and that was enough. i thought you were pretty, and i wanted to buy you a drink. that was all. enjoy!

home stretch

thank you, universe, for revealing my new place to live. i will take life in a series of sweet bites now, if you'll pardon the insider's pun.

c'mon, café paradise! coming to the home stretch now . . . almost there.

i asked and i received. sometimes life rocks! yay, world; yay, people.

ready for sanctuary

quiet afternoon of Steely Dan, Sade, Boston, and Dire Straits crooning away in a private serenade.

watched How To Train Your Dragon last night. good stuff of striving toward tolerance and non-violence.

c'mon, universe — reveal to me my new place to live. (and also, i hope, my new place to love and to laugh). i'm ready. show me sanctuary.

---

[and a delicious side note in my video wanderings: a lovely cameo of 'Lucrezia' by none other than Marina Sirtis (who was Counselor Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation) in The Six Napoleons, an episode of THE RETURN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, 1984 by Granada Television, starring of course the incomparable Jeremy Brett.

yay, people!]

sunshine in rain

i think of you
and i go on.
listen to raindrops
drip down outside.
don't really care
what zip code you're in,
just where you reside,
so long as you're there.
comfort during pain,
pools of laughter
cure a sorrow drought.
i can sometimes feel
sunshine in rain,
love after loss,
always tomorrow
come dreck and dross.
say what you must;
hold onto the real.
pray no sin, no lust.
another day gone.
another day new.

relaxed and calm

heh, just watched 'Last Action Hero' -- very amusing! (and guy who wrote 'Lethal Weapon' was a co-screenwriter -- coolness!)

then another 'Friends' episode. comforting.

and now more lame duck Red Sox action, but at least it's with the Yankees.

i look around me here and think Home at last. it feels good, very relaxed and calm.
